ITE and BERNINA (Singapore) Pte Ltd have extended the collaboration for three years, to train more students in digital sewing technologies. This involves the co-development of the new curriculum that will teach students from all 3 ITE Colleges to sew and market their products. Besides sewing, students will be trained to service BERNINA’s machines. Enhancements will also be made to BERNINA’s training facility at ITE College East, through new machinery from BERNINA.
Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, Mr Heng Swee Keat, witnessed the partnership signing today and was presented with the one-of-a-kind shirt by Harngover made in collaboration with BERNINASG and The Peranakan Museum. The shirt represents a harmonious blend of art, heritage, and innovation and It is a celebration of the Peranakan community’s rich traditions and serves as a testament to the enduring allure of their culture.
